What people who own one say

Photos and words sent in by people wearing it.

Why this one and not another hoodie

Four decisions one person made, that you notice the day you put it on.

Why this one and not another hoodie

Four decisions one person made, that you notice the day you put it on.

A web you can feel, not just see

The pattern is printed digitally into the air-layer fabric and sits raised on the surface. Not a vinyl patch that cracks by the third wash.

400 g of air layer, not a thin lining

Two layers with a cushion of air between them: it insulates like a winter piece without the bulk, and it does not overheat you indoors.

One zip, all the way over the hood

Open like a cardigan, half-zipped, or fully closed. Three garments in one, and your vision stays clear.

Numbered by the hand that made it

Sam writes the run number inside the collar before it ships. No two go out with the same one.

Get the size right first time

Three steps, thirty seconds. That's how you skip the exchange.

Measure your chest

Run a tape around the widest part of your chest without pulling tight. Write the number down in inches.

Add the oversize

The pattern already runs wide. Pick the size whose chest measurement is 5 to 7 in above yours.

Between two, take the smaller

If you land right between two sizes, size down. It still falls loose.

Origins

The six designs

Every colourway in the run, laid out flat so you can read the print before you pick one. Same 400 g air-layer knit and the same full-face zip on all six — what changes is the print.

Crimson Web — The six designs

Crimson Web

Bright red with the black web running edge to edge, cobalt panels down the sleeves and the white spider stitched at the chest. The loudest one in the run.

Faded Crimson — The six designs

Faded Crimson

Washed red with a tonal web you only catch when the light hits it. Cobalt panels, black spider. Reads vintage rather than costume.

Bone White — The six designs

Bone White

Off-white with the web embossed into the knit instead of printed over it. Blush panels and a blush spider — the quiet one.

Nocturne Red — The six designs

Nocturne Red

Black body, grey web, deep red panels on the sleeves and the red circular emblem at the chest. The only one with the round spider.

Ash Black — The six designs

Ash Black

Black on black web with off-white panels cutting down the sleeves and a white spider at the chest. Works with everything.

Nightweb — The six designs

Nightweb

Black with the crystal-set spider across the chest and the face worked into the hood in the same stones. The one people stop you about.

All six ship from the same run. Numbered by hand.

The hoodie in motion

Real footage of the Origins hoodie: the full-face zip, the all-over web print and the weight of the 400 g air-layer fabric.

Zipped and moving

The full-face hood closes clean and the web print keeps its shape while you move.

Up close

400 g air-layer fabric. You can see the web print sitting raised in the weave.

Worn in daylight

Open over a tee. The cut is oversized on purpose: dropped shoulders, wide body.

ONE MAN, ONE TABLE

Sam Brown makes every one of these himself. No factory line, no minimum order of ten thousand. A studio in the United States, a cutting table, a heat press, and a rule he has not broken yet: nothing ships that he would not wear.

Origins started because he could not find a hood that closed the way he wanted. So he drafted the pattern, printed the web himself, and stitched the spider at the chest. Then people started asking where he got it.

Runs are short and numbered because one pair of hands can only make so many. When a series is gone, he moves to the next one.

  • Unisex oversized cut

Made by one person. Yours.

Sam Brown is not a factory. Every hoodie is cut, printed and numbered by hand, one at a time, before it goes anywhere.

DAY 0

You place the order

It lands on Sam's phone with your size and colorway. Nothing is pre-made and sitting in a warehouse — your hoodie does not exist yet.

DAY 1–2

Sam cuts and prints it

He cuts the air-layer panels by hand in his studio, runs the web print, and stitches the spider at the chest himself.

DAY 2

Quality check and numbering

Every piece gets checked seam by seam, then numbered by hand inside the collar. Yours is the only one with that number.

DAY 3–12

It ships to your door

Packed, insured and tracked to anywhere in the world. You get the tracking link the moment it leaves his table.

Frequently asked questions

What people ask us before they buy.

How long does shipping take? +

Sam makes your hoodie in 1–2 business days, then it ships. Delivery takes 7 to 12 business days depending on destination. Your tracking number is emailed the moment it leaves his studio.

Do you ship to my country? +

Yes. Sam ships worldwide — free, insured and tracked, with no minimum order.

Will I pay customs or import fees? +

For most destinations, no. If your country does charge import duty, it is billed by your local carrier and is out of our hands — but it is rare at this order value.

How does the 90-day guarantee work? +

You have 90 days from delivery. Email us, we send return instructions, and the moment the piece arrives back we process a full refund.

Can I exchange for another size? +

Yes. Your first size exchange is free within the 90 days. Email us with your order number and the size you want.

How do I wash it? +

By hand or on a cold delicate cycle, always inside out. No dryer, no bleach. That keeps the black deep and the print from cracking.

Is it really handmade? +

Yes. One person, one studio. Sam cuts the panels, runs the print, stitches the spider and writes the run number inside the collar before it ships.

Will it be restocked if it sells out? +

Runs are short and numbered because one person can only make so many. When Origins sells out, Sam moves to the next series rather than reprinting it.

I own three zip hoodies and this is the only one with actual weight to it. You feel the two layers the second you pick it up. I wore it at 45 degrees over just a t-shirt walking the dog for an hour and never reached for a jacket, and it still does not cook you indoors like a sherpa lining does. The web print is pressed into the fabric, not sitting on top of it, so it does not crack when you scrunch the sleeve. Ordered my usual L and it falls exactly like the photos.

I am usually a M in everything and the size guide said to take the smaller one if you are between sizes, so I went S. Perfect. Still oversized, dropped shoulders, wide body, just not swimming in it. The hood zips all the way over your face which sounds gimmicky until the first cold morning waiting for the bus. Shipping took four days to Seattle and it landed exactly when the tracking said it would.

- Arrived with a number written inside the collar

Did not expect this part. There is a run number handwritten inside the collar, in pen, slightly crooked. Sounds like a small thing but it is the reason I stopped comparing this to the ten dollar versions online. You can tell one person made it. Zip is heavy and does not snag, stitching is clean everywhere I looked, and the black has not faded after four cold washes.

- Great hoodie, slow to arrive

No complaints about the piece itself. Fabric is thick, the print looks better in person than on screen, and my partner has basically stolen it. Four stars only because it took nine days to reach Vermont and the estimate said four to seven. Tracking worked the whole way and support answered me the same day I asked, so it was more impatience than a real problem.

- Bought the black, came back for the red

Ordered the black one in December and liked it enough that I got the red two weeks later. Both fit identically, same weight, same print quality, so whatever he is doing he is doing it consistently. The red one gets a lot more comments. If you are on the fence about the full face zip, you can just wear it open like a normal hoodie and nobody knows it is there.
